Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Website Plug ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or purchase our services. By using our website and services, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who We Are

The Website Plug is a web design and software service provider offering managed websites, e-commerce stores, landing pages, SaaS dashboards, and related services. For any privacy-related questions, you can reach us using the contact details at the end of this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you give us — such as your name, email address, phone number, business details, and any content you share when you fill in a brief, request a quote, or contact us.
  • Payment information — when you purchase a plan or service, payments are processed securely by our payment providers (Stripe and Revolut). We do not store your full card details on our servers.
  • Information collected automatically — such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and how you interact with our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our services;
  • Process payments and manage your subscription or order;
  • Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support;
  • Send you service updates, and (where you have agreed) marketing communications;
  • Improve our website, services, and customer experience;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems;
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable data protection law (such as the UK GDPR) applies, we process your personal data on the basis of: performing our contract with you; your consent; our legitimate interests in running and improving our business; and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with trusted third parties who help us operate our business, including:

  • Payment processors (Stripe, Revolut) to handle transactions;
  • Hosting, infrastructure, and security providers (such as Netlify and Cloudflare);
  • Analytics and communication tools that help us run and improve our services;
  • Professional advisers or authorities where required by law.

These parties are only permitted to use your information as necessary to provide their services to us.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website and improve your experience. For full details, please see our Cookie Policy below.

7. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Transfers

Some of our service providers may process your information outside your country of residence. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information remains protected in line with applicable data protection laws.

11. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 14 June 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Website Plug website and the services we provide. By using our website or purchasing our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us

The Website Plug ("we", "us", or "our") provides web design and software services, including managed websites, e-commerce stores, landing pages, SaaS dashboards, maintenance, and related services. You can contact us using the details at the end of these Terms.

2. Our Services

We offer one-time builds and ongoing monthly subscription plans. The specific features, deliverables, and pricing of each plan are described on our website and may be updated from time to time. Any custom scope agreed with you in writing will take precedence over the general descriptions on the site.

3. Quotes and Orders

Prices shown on our website are indicative. When you place an order or start a subscription, you agree to the price and scope presented at checkout or in a written quote. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where we are unable to fulfil it, in which case any payment taken will be refunded.

4. Payments and Billing

  • Payments are processed securely by our third-party providers, Stripe and Revolut.
  • Subscription plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected) until cancelled.
  • One-time initial site audit & onboarding fees are charged at the start of a project and are separate from recurring fees.
  • You are responsible for keeping your payment details up to date. We may suspend services if a payment fails or remains outstanding.

5. Subscriptions, Cancellations and Refunds

Our subscription plans have no long-term lock-in — you may cancel at any time, and your plan will remain active until the end of your current billing period. Cancellation stops future renewals; fees already paid for the current period are non-refundable except where required by law. One-time initial site audit & onboarding fees are non-refundable once work has commenced.

6. Your Responsibilities

To deliver our services effectively, we rely on you to:

  • Provide accurate, complete information and any content (text, images, logos) needed for your project;
  • Confirm you have the rights to any materials you supply to us;
  • Respond to requests for feedback and approvals in a timely manner;
  • Use our services lawfully and not for any fraudulent, harmful, or illegal purpose.

7. Intellectual Property

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, once all applicable fees for a completed build have been paid, ownership of the final delivered website passes to you. We retain ownership of any underlying tools, frameworks, code libraries, and templates we use across clients. Content you provide to us remains yours. We may display non-confidential work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.

8. Third-Party Services

Our services may rely on third-party platforms and tools (such as hosting, payment, and security providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or performance.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep your website and our services running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation. Maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control may occasionally affect availability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to our services will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the service giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to our services if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use our services unlawfully. You may stop using our services at any time by cancelling your plan as described above.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website or services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Cookie Policy

Last updated: 14 June 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how The Website Plug ("we", "us", or "our") uses them on our website, and the choices you have. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy above.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve your experience, and to provide information to site owners. Similar technologies such as pixels, tags, and local storage work in much the same way, and we refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies to keep our website working properly, to remember your preferences, to keep your session secure during checkout, and to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. We only use non-essential cookies where permitted.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Type Purpose
Strictly necessary Essential for the website to function — for example, keeping your checkout session secure and remembering items as you move through the site. These cannot be switched off.
Preference Remember choices you make, such as your selected billing period or other settings, to give you a smoother experience.
Analytics & performance Help us understand how visitors interact with our site — which pages are visited and where issues occur — so we can improve performance and content.
Security Set by our infrastructure and security providers (such as Cloudflare) to protect the site against malicious traffic and abuse.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies may be set by third parties that provide services on our behalf, including payment processors (Stripe and Revolut), hosting and security providers (Netlify and Cloudflare), and analytics tools. These providers have their own privacy and cookie policies, which govern how they use the information they collect.

5. Managing Your Cookies

Most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can usually choose to block or delete cookies, or to be notified when a cookie is set. Please note that blocking some cookies — especially strictly necessary ones — may affect how our website works, including the checkout process.

To manage cookies, look in the settings or preferences menu of your browser. The "help" function of your browser will tell you how to do this.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or how we operate. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
